About Dragon Golf Instruction

Dragon Golf Instruction is led by teaching professional Meurig Morgan.  His teaching career has spanned over 10 years at multiple facilities in the US and Europe. Over the past 10 years, Meurig has taught over 10,000 lessons and has worked with all levels of golfers including complete beginners to budding professional golfers looking to improve their game. Meurig's teaching method breaks down golf mechanics into simple sections, preventing the student from getting bogged down with multiple swing thoughts to think through while trying to fix his/her game.

Dragon Golf Instruction is based out of Lake Oswego Golf Course, which boasts an 18 hole par 3 golf course with holes ranging from 90 yards to almost 200 yards. The practice facility includes a 13 bay covered driving range with anti-shock artificial turf mats, a large putting green and newly constructed short game area (with bunkers) as of Summer 2015.

Dragon Golf Instruction offers a wide range of lessons and services to suit your needs:

Individual 45 Minute Lessons
Whether its working on your driver, irons, short game or putting, Dragon Golf can help you improve your mechanics in a simple and repeatable fashion.  The use of video analysis and tour pro comparison is a great visual aid, helping the student understand areas of concern and fixing them more quickly than traditional lessons.
On Course Lessons
Playing lessons are great way for students to learn course management skills and improve their scores. It is also a great way for Dragon Golf to see the REAL student in action and also see how the student is progressing in the "field".

Key areas of focus in an on-course lesson include:

Pre shot routine
Shot alignment
Course management
Shot selection
Reading greens

Playing lessons will take place at Lake Oswego GC unless otherwise requested.

Putting Lessons
There are many training aids and tools to help golfers develop correct mechanics and practice habits for the long game. However, there was not a useable system to help students develop this with their putting. Thats why in 2015 Meurig became an Eye-Line Golf Certified Instructor and staff member.

Eye line golf is a dynamic practice system to master the 4 key elements of putting. Practice the right things in the right way and soon you will improve your chance of making putts. Using the tools will help you develop the correct routine, develop the optimum mechanics and work on drills to make rapid improvement possible.

The 4 elements include:

 - Setup
 - Path
 - Impact
 - Speed

Many PGA, LPGA and Champions Tour professionals use Eye Line Golf tools to help them make more putts.

Dragon Golf Instruction uses Eye Line Golf training aids and routines to help students during putting lessons.

Lesson Packages
Dragon Golf Instruction offers a number of packages for sequential lessons. Building solid mechanics is critical for long-term consistency, which cannot be found in a single lesson. Dragon Golf recommends building a game plan to help you develop a solid foundation instead of giving you a band-aid or quick fix.

More About Meurig

Ever since he was 14 years old and his next door neighbor Will handed him a golf club Meurig lived, breathed and slept golf!

Like everybody else who dreamt of playing golf for a living he worked hard at his game, beating balls, taking golf lessons, playing in tournaments and improved enough to play off a +2 handicap. In 1997 he was picked to play on the Welsh National Squad.

After a few years playing on various professional mini tours Meurig came to realize that his game was not quite up to par to play with the elite players on the circuits. Yet he still yearned to be part of this great game in some other way. This is when he became completely hooked on teaching golf and sharing his knowledge and experiences with students.
